we did a load of introductory drawings, but i didnt photograph them. oh well. above is one. it was kinda like a diary of the week. i drew drawings that we'd done. and string... this next one is ANTS. we preteneded to be ants crawling on something. here i did a book. then we had a ruler and made it more geometric. thats a drawing of joe with his arm through paper underneath.i drew jeff as if i were an ant made of graphite. its a bit wrong.
we did a cut and paste thing. i drew joe twice and stuck them together "artistically" i think it was pretty good :) then we had to draw the class with 4 different pieces of paper..mine turned into an art joke cartoon thing. DAVID SHRIGLEY?
next day a new man came and talked about the psychology and science of art. we also got more stuff to use to make art with. our little brief was called "hands." naturally, i made a sculpture of the penultimate scene of the shawshank redemption....
then i did a conceptual piece based on HANDS. i spread blue tac out WITH my hands. then i drew it using an EXTENTION of my hands, then i cut out a plastic thing in the same shape with an EXTENTION of my hands, during which i cut myself.. so i used the blood to draw the blue tac shape.. so therefore i drew FROM my hand, using part of my hand as media. then i presented it in a little way so it looked good haha
then i made a performance/instalation piece. i ripped a hand roughly from brown paper and hung it out of the window. so i used the wind as a tool to transform the paper into a sculptural, moving structure.
heres a sideways video of it:
friday we did plaster. that was good. very relaxing and theraputic. ive wanted to sculpt for AGES. so i jumped at the chance to rip-off RODIN.
